PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect Your information when You visit our mobile application for seafarers, namely, Crewmates (hereinafter referred to as “Mobile App”). The terms, “You” and “Your” refer to the user of the Mobile App. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. This Privacy Policy is part of and incorporated within, and is to be read along with the Terms and Condition.

We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason. If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will alert You about any changes by updating the “Last updated” date of this Privacy Policy. You should periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed of the updates. You will be deemed to have been made aware of, will be subject to, and will be deemed to have accepted the changes in any revised Privacy Policy by Your continued use of the Mobile App after the date such revised Privacy Policy is posted.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the third-party online/mobile store from which You install the Mobile App, which may also collect and use data about You. We are not responsible for any of the data collected by any such third party.

By using the Mobile App, You agree and consent to the collection, transfer, use storage disclosure and sharing of Your information as described and collected by us in accordance with this Privacy Policy

COLLECTION OF YOUR INFORMATION

Two types of information gets collected when You use our product, namely, Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”) and Non-Personally Identifiable Information (“NPII”).

PII includes, information which can be used, either directly or indirectly, to identify, contact or locate You such as Your name, nationality, date of birth, phone number, email address, CDC number, CDC issue country, GPS location, voice to make calls, Payment gateway & Recharging using Razorpay, Login passwords, Payment transaction id, receiver contact details, phone storage and contacts. GPS Location can be denied by You if required. However, You can access certain features in the Mobile App only if GPS is on. Further, Your name, nationality, date of birth, CDC number, CDC issue country and Location is collected from the user for accessing certain features in the Mobile App, otherwise the user will remain as a guest.

If You choose to share data about Yourself via Your profile, online chat, or other interactive areas of the Mobile App, please be advised that all data You disclose in these areas is public and Your data will be accessible to anyone who accesses the Mobile App.

NPII includes Your IP address, cookies, third party’s cookies, backend logs that our techies have access to and web pages that have been viewed by You.

Please note that, PII and NPII will hereinafter collectively be referred to as the “Information”.

USE OF YOUR INFORMATION

Having accurate information about You permits us to provide You with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. We generally use information collected from You via the Mobile App to create and manage Your account.

We will collect and use Your Information for purposes, such as:

  1. To register and allow You to use our Mobile App
  2. Email You regarding Your Account
  3. Enable user-to-user communications
  4. Increase the efficiency and operation of the Mobile App
  5. Request feedback and contact You about Your use of the Mobile App
  6. Resolve disputes and troubleshoot problems.
  7. Send You a newsletter
  8. Solicit support for the Mobile App.
  9. Understanding Your use of our Mobile App for improved overall use.
  10. Notification of technical updates or changes in our policies.
  11. Improvement of the content and functionality of our Mobile App.
  12. Phone number for verification before accessing VOIP call and chat.
  13. Nationality to identify how many users are there from different locations.
  14. Name, CDC Number, CDC issue country and Date of birth to verify user is a seafarer for giving access to the special features locked for seafarers and also for getting the approximate number of seafarers using the Mobile App.
  15. GPS location for accessing the location of seafarer and seafarer can share his tracking to his family member or friend with a help of a special password.

Financial Information

Financial Information, to the extent consisting of details relating to the manner and mode of payment of charges for the use of the Mobile App (such as details of Your bank account, credit card, debit card, net banking, etc.), submitted by You while making payment of charges: (a) goes through the safe and secure transaction process provided by our payment gateway partners; (b) goes through the Visa or Mastercard pages, as the case may be, based on Your payment method/(s) in order to prevent any misuse of Your payment details; and (c) that such payment details are not shared with us.

DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION

We may share information we have collected about You in certain situations.

Statutory or Legal obligations

We may disclose the Information collected by us if required by law, or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to: (a) comply with a legal obligation, (b) protect and defend our rights and/or property, or (c) to protect the property or safety of the users of our Mobile App or any third party.

Change of Control/Business Transfers

We reserve the right to sell or buy businesses or assets. In the event of a corporate sale, merger, reorganization, dissolution or similar event, the Information may be part of the transferred assets. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer or successor of our company or business may continue to use Your Information as set forth in our Privacy Policy.

Online Postings

When You post comments, contributions or other content to the Mobile App, Your posts may be viewed by all users.

Interactions with Other Users

If You interact with other users of the Mobile App, those users may see Your name, profile photo, and descriptions of Your activity, including sending invitations to other users, chatting with other users, liking posts, following blogs.

USE OF COOKIES

We use cookies while providing access to our Mobile App. We use cookies and other tracking technologies on the Mobile App to help customize the Mobile App and improve Your experience. When You access the Mobile App, Your personal information is not collected through the use of tracking technology. Most browsers are set to accept cookies by default. You can remove or reject cookies, but be aware that such action could affect the availability and functionality of the Mobile App.

ACCESS TO THIRD PARTY WEBSITES

We undertake that we will not distribute, trade, sell or rent any Information, provided by You by use of our Mobile App, to any third party, except as provided in our Privacy Policy or through any other instruction issued by You.

When You use the Mobile App, there may be certain links which may direct You to another website. The manner in which Your information is collected and/or used by such third party website is governed by the terms of use and privacy policy of the respective third party website. We urge You to acquaint Yourself with policies of every such third party website. If You visit, access or use any third party website via a link in our product, make sure You read their website related policies which are independent of our Mobile App.

We are not responsible for the actions of third parties with whom You share personal or sensitive data, and we have no authority to manage or control third-party solicitations. If You no longer wish to receive correspondence, emails or other communications from third parties, You are responsible for contacting the third party directly.

PROCESSING OF INFORMATION BY THIRD PARTIES

We may use third parties in order to process Your Information. These third parties are obligated to keep such Information protected and confidential. We do not share such Information with third parties unless doing so is necessary for purposes provided in our Privacy Policy; and/or to carry out Your request and/or permissible under the laws.

We work closely with third parties for developing our Mobile App and facilitating Your use of the same. We may disclose the Information to such third parties engaged by us. However, we will make reasonable efforts to ensure that such third parties keep such portions of the Information that they may receive from us confidential as per industry standards.

GRIEVANCES

We would like to clarify that our Privacy Policy is exclusively subject to the applicable laws of India, and You provide Your unequivocal consent to this.

This Privacy Policy comes into effect as on 1-12- 2021
